Silk Painting at Creative Arts

Creative Arts Sandwell textile sessions with artist Nicky Perryman

Here are some of the lovely artworks created by the special needs participants during a series of textile sessions I held at Creative Arts, Oldbury. We had a lot of fun splashing around with paint, glitter and sequins. Everyone had a go at painting on silk squares and then adding some sequin decorations on top using glue. What impressed me was how different and interesting everyone’s work was and how they all took to the creative process with such joyful abandon. Being playful is so important to mental health, something which I think we could all do with reminding of from time to time.
